ORANGE COUNTY BUSINESSES SHOW MOMS (AND DADS) HOW TO PARTY

Sometimes planning a child’s birthday party can be overwhelming or may seem altogether impossible.  So, more than 10 Orange County businesses decided to lend a helping hand and make life as a host/hostess much easier for busy Orange County moms and dads.

Saige Nicole’s Baby and Toddler Boutique and The Wedding Pantry, located at The OC Mart Mix in Costa Mesa, are hosting the first “Birthday Party Bootcamp”.  With the assistance and creative direction by Lemonade – An Event Company, this dynamic trio has been able to bring together over 10 of the best Orange County vendors to share their secrets, wares and expertise on how to create a birthday party children will love and friends and neighbors will talk about for months.

During Birthday Party Bootcamp, attendees enjoy DIY demonstrations, sample pastries and treats and learn tips and tricks from professionals in their field! Everything from capturing the perfect memories in pictures, choosing themes that pop, DIY decor that sizzles, birthday fashions that rock, birthday cakes as centerpiece and gluten-free/allergen-free treats everyone can enjoy, will be shared to leave participants feeling confident and ready to plan the perfect party!

5 Things I Love About Being a Mom

by, Wendy Navarro

When I was dating, Valentine’s Day meant waiting with excited anticipation to see what my boyfriend would bring me or where he would take me for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner.  Once I married, Valentine’s Day meant finding new and exciting ways to surprise my husband; whether discovering new restaurants or romantic rendezvous.  Three children later, Valentine’s Day brings a new excitement.  A time when I am especially sentimental because there is nothing more real or more surreal than the LOVE I have for my children and the LOVE I feel from them.  Don’t get me wrong, I still love waiting with excited anticipation for those thoughtful gifts from my husband or the butterflies I get when I have a surprise planned for him but, if we don’t do those things it’s O.K. because now, we can share our love  reminiscing about the greatest gift we have given to each other; our children/family.

So, I think what better day than today to write down, 5 Things I Love About Being a Mom and my new outlook on Valentine’s Day and wish every family a sweet, sweet Valentine's day!

5 Things I Love About Being a Mom

1.  Experiencing their first belly laugh.
2.  The quiet moments when we’re together and no words are necessary to say, “I Love You”.
3.  The tickle sessions (and hugs and kisses that come after); no matter how old they get.
4.  Seeing their excitement when experiencing something for the first time: from their first lick of a lemon, to their first romp in the snow, or their first roller coaster ride.
5.  Sitting around the dinner table and hearing the chatter of their days events.
