Firecracker Firecracker Boom Boom Boom! Yeah...4th of July celebrations are being planned. The American Flag and red, white and blue will adorn the front porches of homes across the U.S. (oh, reminds me we need a new flag); children will be dressed from head to toe in their patriotic best anxiously awaiting the splendor of the fireworks show.
A small town feel seems to take over even in the largest cities and we revert to a simpler time during the 4th of July - maybe a time back to our childhood when life was simpler. We'll have family and friends over, BBQ, eat potato salad, drink some beer, and celebrate our freedom remembering those who fought and fight so that we can do so. We have a long, proud history of servicemen and women in our family; some who lost their lives for this freedom. I will dress my littlest one in red, white and blue from his toes to the top of his head and we may even decorate his wagon or perhaps his bike, I'll let him choose. We'll talk about our family and those who came over from Europe and embraced the American lifestyle and we'll sit quietly at moments reflecting what it all means. Then, we'll snap to responding to the excited squeals of our little ones ready for the huge fireworks show! It's going to be a great 4th - it always is.
Keeping up with raising a family and running a business leaves little time for much of anything else. So, when family, friends and colleagues said that I 'had to get' a Twitter account I cringed; how would I keep up with another blog posting or whatever the heck it was? So, I didn't until I finally caved in after the constant badgering. We'll shoot, I should have caved in a long time ago! Tweeting is actually really cool. It takes but a few seconds and it's like writing mini journal entries. I actually really like it. Mind you, I just got started doing it this week but it's definitely something I'll keep up.
